Varelas Accountants is a family business based in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. The practice was initially established in 2007 by the current partners George & Cristina Varelas offering a personal income tax return service.
The practice has since grown rapidly and now offers a comprehensive range of accounting & taxation services tailored to meet the needs of individual and business clients. With this growth, our firm has had the privilege of building its wealth of knowledge, expertise and experience.
We are modern accounting practice utilising the latest in technological advancements in accounting and taxation practice. At Varelas Accountants we use a proactive approach and an outside the box thinking to complex accounting and taxation problems.

George Varelas
Managing Director
George is a Certified Practicing Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in accounting and finance from Deakin University. George has over 17 years experience in the accounting & taxation industry.
George is a trusted advisor and an expert in the area of Taxation and Superannuation. George has a passion in finding creative solutions and strategies to reduce the tax burden for personal and business clients.
George has been a managing director of Varelas Accountants (Formerly G & C Varelas) since 2007. In previous employment he has held senior accountant positions. His role within the practice is to provide specialised advice to small businesses and personal clients in the areas of taxation, general accounting, structuring and superannuation. George works closely with clients utilising a proactive approach and an outside the box thinking to complex accounting & taxation problems.
George’s professional qualifications and memberships include:

Cristina Varelas
Partner/Administrator
Cristina holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in accounting and finance from Deakin University. Cristina has had significant experience at several medium size accounting practices in particularly in the area of personal taxation and accounting administration.
Cristina has been a partner of Varelas Accountants (formerly G & C Varelas) since 2007.Cristina’s current role within the practice is in the area of tax compliance and accounting administration.
She also currently manages the key administration aspects of the business including, technological advancement, company policy development and implementation.
Cristina’s professional qualifications and memberships include:
